About me
I’m Sarah Hendrix, and I’ve been a Physical Education teacher and coach for 17 years. Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work with students at both the junior high and high school levels, always with the goal of promoting a love for physical activity and helping my students develop lifelong skills.
For 17 years, I have been the assistant varsity softball coach. For 14 years, I coached junior high volleyball and basketball, and for the last 3 years, I’ve had the privilege of coaching freshman basketball at the high school level. All of my roles have been an incredibly rewarding experience.
In the PE classroom, I strive to create an environment where every student feels valued and motivated to push their limits. My goal is to make fitness fun and accessible for all students, regardless of skill level. By incorporating a variety of activities—ranging from team sports to individual challenges—I encourage students to discover what physical activities they enjoy and can sustain throughout their lives. I believe that physical education is about more than just fitness; it’s about teaching students important life skills like teamwork, communication, and perseverance. Whether they’re mastering a new sport, improving their fitness, or building confidence, I aim to make a lasting impact on their physical and mental well-being.
As a teacher and coach, I’m passionate about helping students not only improve their athletic skills but also build their confidence, teamwork, and resilience. Whether on the court, field, or in the classroom, I strive to make a positive impact on my students' lives and encourage them to lead active, healthy lifestyles.
Outside of school, I’m deeply involved in my church community and find joy in spending time with my family. I’m also a big fan of building Legos—it's a hobby that allows me to unwind, tap into my creativity, and have fun with my kids.
