About me
I’m Kayla Whatley, and I’m in my 13th year of teaching Elementary Physical Education and coaching. It’s been a fulfilling journey helping students not only improve their physical skills but also develop important life skills through movement and instilling a lifelong love for fitness. In addition to teaching PE, I also coach Cross Country and Softball at the high school level, where I have the privilege of working with athletes to improve their performance, teamwork, and overall athletic development.
Outside of school, I’m married to Chris Whatley, the Head Baseball Coach. Together, we have two wonderful daughters, Kinsler and Kabryn, who keep us on our toes and remind us daily of the joys of family life.
When I’m not teaching, coaching, or spending time with my family, you can usually find me outdoors. Whether I’m planting and caring for my flowers or just enjoying the fresh air, I find peace and joy in nature. I’m also very involved in my church, which plays a significant role in my life and values.
As a teacher and coach, I strive to make a positive and lasting impact on my students and athletes. I encourage them to be active, healthy, and confident in themselves—both on and off the field. My goal is to help them develop not only their physical abilities but also the mental and emotional resilience to succeed in all areas of life.
